Bellingham’s boys’ swimming team defeated Archbishop Murphy and Sedro-Woolley by a score of 152-74-61, respectively, on Thursday, Dec. 18, at the Arne Hanna Aquatic Center.
The Red Raiders won nine out of the 12 events in the meet to improve their record to 4-0.
Bellingham swept all three relay events during the meet. Mike Leishman placed first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:09.55, Logan Dozal won the 200 individual medley with a 2:17.54 finish, Brisen Pearson placed first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:01.16, Shea Milke swam a 5:33.74 to place first in the 500 freestyle and Jack Aldrich placed first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:10.13.
Ferndale co-ops with Bellingham, its swimmer of the meet was freshman Brandon Wilhoite who placed third in the 100 breastroke, Bellingham coach Jeff Anderson said in an e-mail.
The Red Raiders’ 4-0 record is the best start in years, Andrerson said.
Bellingham swims against Anacortes next at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Fidalgo Pool.
