Both seniors and freshmen made some noise in the All-Northwest Conference team selections, which were announced Tuesday, Nov. 18.
Squalicum freshman Yani Le made first team in three events, as did Sehome senior Gwendolyn Roley.
Le was part of Squalicum’s first-team 200 medley relay, which also included Abby VonFeldt, Amanda Tapparo and Serena Allendorfer. Le also qualified for the first team in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke.
Roley was first team in the 200 free, 100 backstroke and was part of Sehome’s first team 200 free relay squad, which included Sophie Grambo, Leah Day and Hannah Holmgren.
Squalicum’s Serena Allendorfer was also a top name on the selection, gaining three first team selections (200 medley relay, 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle).
Other first teamers included Squalicum’s Amber Caron (diving), Anacortes’ Zoe Hill (100 butterfly), Sehome’s Alia Malella (500 freestyle) and Anacortes’ 400 free relay team of Faith Fostvedt, Zoe Hill, Isabel Wyll and Lauren Conrardy.
Second and third teamers from Sehome included its 200 medley relay team and 400 free relay team, Ellie Poehlman (200 free, 500 free), Sophie Grambo (50 free), Hannah Holmgren (100 free, 100 breaststroke), Malella (100 backstroke), Megan Mundell (100 backstroke) and Leah Day (100 breaststroke).
Squalicum’s second and third teamers were its 200 free relay team and 400 free relay team.
Bellingham’s Chloe Steinkamp (200 IM), Chloe Roth (diving) and Sunni Sternhagen (diving) also made second and third-team selections.
