Sehome’s boys’ tennis team dominated the singles matches, eventually prevailing 4-3 over Squalicum in a Northwest Conference matchup on Friday, Oct. 3, at Sehome.
Max Shmotolokha, Brady Anderson, Reece Gilbert and Darren Ma all won their respective matches for the Mariners in straight sets. It was Ma’s 7-5, 7-5 win over Tim Lann, though, that tipped the scales in favor of Sehome.
“It was a really competitive match from top to bottom,” Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview. “He (Ma) was starting to struggle in the second set with a little cramping, but he toughed it out and pulled it out.”
Doubles, though, belonged to the Storm, which won all three.
