Sehome’s boys’ cross country team swept the top seven spots for a perfect score of 15 in a Northwest Conference meet on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Peace Arch Park.
The Mariners were led by Kirby Overman’s time of 17 minutes, 3.74 seconds in the 5k race. Lynden Chrsitian’s team was second with 56 points and Blaine was third with 73.
Josh Lingbloom led the Lyncs with a time of 18:17.03, and Parker Morris led the Borderites with a time of 18:04.35, good for eighth place overall.
Sehome’s Riley Allsop was second overall with a 17:30.27, just beating out teammate Ben Stalheim, who finished in 17:30.81. Rounding out the Mariners’ sweep were Tyler Caseria (17:33.45), Alex schneider (17:35.85), Colton Johnsen (17:59.85) and Patrick Lisosky (18:01.99).
Lingbloom took ninth overall for Lynden Christian, and teammate Jon Wiley was 10th with a time of 18:19.81. Jack VanderGriend (18:40.38) and Eric Steiger (18:58.35) also had sub-19:00 times for the Lyncs.
Blaine’s next best runner was Charlie Baldwin, who ran a 19:01.20.
Sehome will attend the Runners Soul Eric Anderson Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Plantes Ferry. Blaine will be at the South Whidbey Invitational at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at South Whidbey High School. Lynden Christian runs at Salt Creek Invitational at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in Port Angeles.
