Sehome’s girls’ cross country team finished all five of its scoring runners in the top seven, as the Mariners cruised past Lynden Christian and Blaine on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Peace Arch Park. Sehome finished with 23 points, Lynden Christian had 43 and Blaine ended with 68.
Sehome’s Emily Pittis took the individual victory in commanding fashion, edging out Blaine’s Hillary Kiele by more than a minute. The Mariners top five included Ellie Rowan-Arnett, Abby Johnson, Aili Emory and Kate Rose.
Lynden Christian’s best finisher was Sarah Ball, who took third with a 20:59.15. Behind her for LC was McKenzie Young, Brandy Bruneau, Brianna Bruneau and Julia Morris.
Blaine only ran five girls on the day — Kiele (20:48.83), Sophia Dwyer (22:45.72), Hannah Kean (24:47.00), Navkiran Gill (27:34.22) and Isabela Velasquez (28:16.12).
