Ferndale’s boys’ tennis team picked up its first win of the season, defeating Sedro-Woolley 4-3 on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Sedro-Woolley High School.
The Golden Eagles (1-2, 1-2 NWC) swept the singles matches, with only one match going three sets.
“The singles played really well,” Ferndale coach Rudy Vendiola said in a phone interview. “Some of the things we worked on were implemented on the court. It was good to see.”
Vendiola was also pleased with his doubles teams, despite losing all three matches.
“We improved with each set,” Vendiola said. “Even though the doubles lost, I was pleased with the performance.”
Ferndale faces Anacortes on Friday, Sept. 19, on the road.
