Bellingham coach Steve Chronister once again had to adjust his lineup because of sickness on Wednesday, Sept. 17, but the result didn’t change — a 7-0 Northwest Conference victory over a young visiting Anacortes squad.
“We still had some sickness,” Chronister said in a phone interview. “We had some guys come in and had some go out. We’ve had some sort of heavy cold going through the school. Everybody who played, played really well, though.”
Included in that were Nick Rose and Andrew Suter, who aren’t usually varsity players, but scored an impressive 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
Connor Thompson, Charlie Carmichael, Austin Shenton and Henry Ziels breezed to four singles victories, combining to drop only six games between them, as the Red Raiders did not drop a set Wednesday.
Never miss a local story.
Things will get quite a bit tougher on Friday, Sept. 19, when Bellingham travels to play Sehome.
