The Sehome boys’ tennis team won every singles match and earned a 6-1 victory on Monday, Sept. 15, at Sehome High School.
Max Shmotolokha, Brady Anderson, Reece Gilbert and Darren Ma all won their singles matchups for the Mariners, never allowing their opponent to claim more than two games.
“All the singles guys had good matches,” Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview. “They all had quick matches.”
The Sehome doubles teams had to battle their opponents a bit more. Kevin Lui and Jack Humphreys came out on the winning side after a long match with Blake Browning and Blair Dykstra 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
“Their match was almost three hours,” Giller said. “It was good to see them come back from a slow start to play better in the last two sets, and to see two of the more inexperienced kids come back.”
Sehome will look for another win at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Squalicum.
