The Blaine boys' wrestling team ended its regular season with a bang, as it topped Anacortes 54-18 on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Anacortes.
Borderites' coach Craig Foster had nothing but positives to say about his team.
"They were just really aggressive," he said in a phone interview. "They wrestled with a lot of confidence and that's what you hope for this time of year. I think they feel good about where they're at."
Billy Dodd was one wrestler who stood out to Foster. Dodd defeated Cody Morales in the 126-pound class by pin with only 15 seconds left in the final round.
"He dominated the entire match. He scored points and then got the pin. He was dominant in every position," Foster said.
Colton Economy was another wrestler who racked up points and scored a late pin.
"For a freshman, he was real aggressive," Foster said. "He scored 15 points before he got the pin. He got after it and that's what you like to see from a freshman."
The Borderites end the regular season with a 7-1 record.
