The Meridian boys’ basketball team opened hot, ended hot and came out with a 67-55 Northwest Conference win at Sehome on Thursday.
“I’m impressed by Meridian, they’ve got great players inside and out,” Sehome coach A.J. LaBree said in a phone interview. “It’s tough to guard them, they’re a handful.”
The Trojans started with a 22-point first quarter and did the same in the fourth quarter, and LaBree credited their defense with shutting down the Mariners’ Parker Omey and holding him to 12 points.
LaBree also praised the play of Meridian’ s Andrei Lintz, who finished with a game-high 21 points. Joey Sebens finished with 17 points for Meridian and Luke Schweigert scored 10.
Sehome was led by Dane Thorpe’s 15 points, and Brandon Fox scored 11.
