Coach: Don Helling
Top swimmers: Collin Flynn (Sr.), Brian Parine (Sr.), Sky Bax (Sr.), Mike Younquist (Sr.), Evan Schmidt (Jr.), Trevor Holmgren (Jr.), Tyler VanDooren (Jr.), Alex Thon (So.), Jordan Fish (So.), Ryan Newell (So.)
Outlook: Last year’s district and confer-ence champions return looking to improve on a fifth-place finish at state. The Mari-ners have a very talented nucleus in place. Among their talented returners are Flynn, who placed fourth in the 50 free-style and fifth in the 100 freestyle at state, the versatile Parine, who placed eighth in the 200 individual medley at state, and Schmidt and Bax, who each competed individually at state last year. The Mariners also return three-quarters of all three relays, which placed fourth, fourth and ninth at state last year. Depth also should be an asset for the Mariners, who figure to be favorites to repeat as NWC and district champs and should be able to move up at state, as well.
