Coach: Brian Roper
Last year: 25-2 (13-0 NWC), won Class 2A state championship.
Players to watch: Brady Bomber (Sr., G), Adam DeLange (Sr., F), Tate Dallas (Sr., F), Jacob Martin (Sr., G), Trenton Mckee (Jr., F)
Outlook: The Lions lost four of their five leading scorers from last season with the graduation of a talented senior class, but all-conference point guard Brady Bomber is back as one of five seniors on the team. Bomber, a four-year starter, averaged 9.4 points during last year’s title run. Without Chris Bolt and Steven Webb, Lynden will not be as big inside, and therefore will likely rely on an improved pe-rimeter game rather than the inside-out game it played last year. Roper also is excited about the versatility Dallas, Martin and McKee will give him from the wings. Like last year, the Lions will get a little bit later start because of the success of the football team. But Roper said he hopes the team will begin showing improvement by January. Though it lacks the size and experience of last year’s team, the Lions certainly could be ready for another successful playoff run this season and could battle Burlington-Edison for the conference title.
