Western Washington University shortstop Alicia Fine has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for Feb. 8-14.
Fine batted .500 (10-for-20), drove in 14 runs and scored 10 as the Vikings won four of six games at the Desert Stinger in Las Vegas. Among her 10 hits were four doubles and three home runs, one a grand slam, as she posted a 1.150 slugging percentage.
Fine, a transfer from NCAA Division I Portland State, also walked three times and did not strike out.
In 12 games this season, Fine is hitting .372 and has a .960 fielding average with just two errors in 50 chances.
