Western Washington University’s Brett Watson placed second in the high jump on Saturday, Feb. 7, and Kevin Yates was runner-up in the long jump on Friday, Feb. 6, at the Washington State University Indoor Invitational held at the Indoor track facility on the WSU campus.
In all, five Viking men athletes competed.
Watson had a season-best effort of 6-foot-7 in the high jump and was fourth in the long jump on Friday with a mark of 21-9. Yates cleared 22-9 in the long jump.
WWU’s Brandon Pless was third in the Saturday’s shot put competition with a mark of 50-4. Travis Milbrandt also was third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.27.
The Vikings’ Logan Myers was sixth in the high jump (6-foot-5).
Milbrandt also ran the 60 meters (7.42), as did Myers in the 60 hurdles (8.47) and Watson in the 400 (51.55).
The Vikings compete in the University of Washington Husky Classic on Feb. 13-14 at Seattle.
