Western Washington University was recently named to the list of top 10 colleges for skiers by Freeskier Magazine. WWU ranked No. 9 on the list.
No. 1 on the list was the University of Utah.
The list ranked evaluated colleges based on 16 factors, including distance to winter resorts, average annual snowfall, number of resorts within 100 miles and number of courses related to snow. Academics were also factors that helped determine the list, such as professor-to-student ratio and graduation rate.
Freeskier complimented WWU’s proximity to Mt. Baker Ski Area, which is home to the highest average annual snowfall in the continental United States.
