The Northwest Indian College men’s basketball team won all four pool games during the 2016 American Indian Higher Education Consortium National Basketball Championship, which it is hosting.
NWIC beat Turtle Mountain Community College 79-63 and Fort Peck Community College 68-37 on Wednesday, March 2. On Thursday, March 3, the Eagles beat Oglala Lakota College 48-48 and Aaniiih Nakoda College 76-61.
The NWIC women went 2-1 in Group A play. The Eagles split on the opening day of the tournament, beating Ogala Lakota College 44-38 but losing to Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College 47-42 on Wednesday before beating Stone Child College 49-41 on Wednesday.
Schedules beyond pool play were not available. The tournament continues through Sunday, March 6, at Lummi Nation School.
