CENTENNIAL
Curriculum package on local history available

A special curriculum package on local history for students and teachers is now available thanks to the Center for Pacific Northwest Studies at Western Washington University.

The package helps students in elementary, middle and high school learn about Bellingham's history, in conjunction with celebration of the city's centennial.

The material is divided into four sections:

• Historical narratives that focus on towns, industries, people and schools.

• A lesson section that offers teachers a variety of curricular elements for planning a Bellingham centennial unit.

• A section on additional activities that gives more information about local events and exhibits connected to Bellingham's centennial celebration.

• A section on educational resources with a bibliography useful for high school research projects.
