Q: I am trying to find where to place a general thank you to every one who sent cards and flowers with the passing of my husband, Randy. I was directed to go to the obituary section of the paper, but I am not finding the options I need. Can you advise me, please? Thank you.

Answered 11/20/08 11:32:08 by Jim Donaldson

A: Each obituary has an option to "View/Sign a Guestbook." This is often used to leave a note of condolence to family members, but also would be a good way to reach those readers with a note back from you or your family.

Q: Most newspapers I read online have a date for the pertinent day, where is the B'ham Herald's date? Would normally see it by the temperature etc. Have I missed seeing it?

Answered 11/20/08 11:29:24 by Jim Donaldson

A: We do not post the date on the homepage. Each story has its own date stamp.

Q: I can't seem to find Bellingham Herald employment opportunities.

Answered 11/03/08 16:49:38 by Julie Shirley

A: We post any Herald openings in CareerBuilder.

Q: Where can I find pictures from an article that was in the paper January 9th of this year?

Answered 10/27/08 09:37:53 by Julie Shirley

A: Use the search bar below the navigation to find the story. Photos remain attached to stories. If you're looking for a photo gallery, some were moved during our redesign. Send me a note at julie.shirley@bellinghamherald.com and I'll look for you.

Q: I am trying to find more information about how a friend died. His name was Jason Daniel Parker and according to the obit he died Oct.16. I tried looking through the archives for an article that stood out but didn't find anything. Any ideas?

Answered 10/24/08 10:55:06 by Julie Shirley

A: Families rarely put cause of death in obituaries and we didn't run a story with the name. If you can't ask the family, death certificates are public records at the county, http://www.co.whatcom.wa.us/health/vital_records/index.jsp.

Q: I keep news articles for the Co. Parks and Recreations and cannot check the paper online daily. I would like to go to archives on a day to day basis as opposed to finding an article by title. Is that possible?

Answered 10/24/08 09:44:05 by Julie Shirley

A: No, it's not. The archive is searchable by key words, not dates.

Q: Where's the webcam? It's my link home when I travel.

Answered 10/22/08 16:40:59 by Julie Shirley

A: The link is under "Community" in the main navigation.

Q: I can't get registered as your registration page won't accept Duane Johnson as my name.

Answered 10/21/08 21:18:17 by Julie Shirley

A: You name shouldn't be the problem. A duplicate email address is usually the problem. Have you tried to register in the past? Please email me at julie.shirley@bellinghamherald.com and I will help you register.

Q: Your Saturday edition did not include the answers to Fridays Crossword. It also did not have Saturdays Crossword. Instead it repeated Fridays with Thursdays answers. Any chance you could at least print Fridays answers in a coming paper?? I realize this may seem a small thing, however, I work this puzzle everyday and it is rather irritating when you do this. By the way this is not the first time.

Answered 10/20/08 10:00:18 by Julie Shirley

A: Somebody new picked up an old page and reran it in error. We're adding the missed puzzles to Tuesday's paper.

Q: Where is the NWC football stat sheet for high schools? I can't seem to find it. Thank you.

Answered 10/13/08 10:09:07 by Julie Shirley

A: There's a link to it just under the sports blog on the sports page.
