Q: I am trying to find out if Jack Radisich (senior) not has past away. In 1992 I know he wasn't doing very well. In 1992 he was the President of Redden Net Co. Inc. His wife's name is Pat & his sons names are Jack (Jackie), Steve & Chris. I used to work for them & I am going to be coming back to town & wanted to contact them, but if Jack has passed then I just wanted to be aware of that. I haven't heard from him since 1992. Thank you in advance for any help that you can give me. Sincerley, Heidi Benton (Johnson)

Q: How come the screen always jumps around when I am trying to read?

Answered 10/07/08 16:58:06 by Julie Shirley

A: Pages with multiple photos are best viewed in Firefox. We're working to fix the issue in Internet Explorer.

Q: I would like to post an event in the Health Calendar. I can find "Community Events" but not Health events. It is the announcement of an on-going support group. Thanks so much!

Answered 10/07/08 16:57:04 by Julie Shirley

A: You can find Health as a subcategory of Community.

Q: Where do I find the "a la carte" blog that Robert Mittendorf refers to in today's Food section? Why are there no references to Bellingham restaurants, local businesses and food events on this page? Thank you.

Answered 09/30/08 14:01:30 by Julie Shirley

A: The blogs are linked from the home page on the bottom right. Here's the link to Robert's blog: http://blogs.bellinghamherald.com/recipes/. If you go to the Entertainment tab in the navigation, you'll go to a page with our wine and beer columnists and dining stories. Events are found in our calendar, which is located on the home page. You can also search for dining reviews in the calendar.

Q: I cannot figure out how to change my username. The FAQ on this issue has a link that says it will take you to something like the Member Form, where you are supposed to enter your old user name and e-mail address. But when you click on that link like suggested, there's no place to enter that information. I've spent about 15 frustrating mins going back and forth and all around trying to figure it out. Should be a better way ... Help pls.

Answered 09/24/08 16:48:19 by Julie Shirley

A: Unfortunately, you can't change your user name without deleting your account and creating a new one. But if you send me your current user name and password, and what you want your new user name to be, I will change it for you. My email address is julie.shirley@bellinghamherald.com.

Q: Who do we contact regarding website problems? Webmaster email address? Are the RSS feeds going to be updated regularly? Is there going to be an article summary in the RSS feeds?

Answered 09/23/08 18:10:49 by Julie Shirley

A: You can direct questions and comments about the site to this Q&A. Several people provide answers. You can reach me directly at julie.shirley@bellinghamherald.com. We have an issue with our RSS page that's being fixed, hopefully by Sept. 25. We don't plan to put article summaries in the RSS feeds.

Q: where is there any notation of what day of the week it is on the news spread?

Answered 09/23/08 14:47:27 by Julie Shirley

A: There is no date on index pages. The pages pull content from different places and change all the time. Unlike the printed page, the Web page isn't a snapshot in time. That's why we now include the date of news in stories.

Q: I registered to post a comment - which I can now do. However, for some reason I can not read other folks comments. It always reads zero "0" comments when I know there are posts? Please let me know what I need to do. Thanks1

Answered 09/23/08 14:42:07 by Julie Shirley

A: The commenting software takes a bit longer to load than the rest of the site, so waiting a bit will help. But if you're not seeing comments, it's possible you're running a script blocker on your computer that's blocking the comments.

Q: how do you go back from the picture gallery to the news page?

Answered 09/22/08 09:57:44 by Julie Shirley

A: The galleries should be coming in as a new window. Looks like that's not happening in IE right now. We'll put it on the list to fix. Thanks for your note.

Here's the link to the form you need to complete to become a registered user: http://www.bellinghamherald.com/reg-bin/int.cgi?mode=register Once you complete the form, check the email account you used in registration. You'll get an email from us that includes a Web link you need to click on to complete the registration. Once way to tell if you're a registered user is in the top right of the page, registered users will have a "Wecome - your name" message. We have no record of a registration for your last name. Q: Could you please consider placing a thumbnail map of the area you talk about (new business, street work, etc.? It would be most helpful for newcomers to the area.

Answered 09/18/08 16:30:32 by Julie Shirley

A: With our NewsGarden news mapping tool, which will return soon with upgrades, we discovered most news lacks a street address, which is needed for online mapping tools. We try to include maps when possible.
