Q: OOPS. Sorry, I didn't mean the "contact us" worked. I actually clicked on the "customer service" at the top of the page. I have one non-related question also. How can I take a look at archives from 1890? They don't seem to be online, so should I come to the Herald building for that, or the Museum maybe? Thanks, Julie.
A: The Bellingham Herald has no online archive that old. The Whatcom Museum or Bellingham Public Library are your best bets.

Q: I've been out of town for a few days...what happened to my icon picture and why can't I download another?
A: You no longer have a persona attached to your Herald registration as we switched story comment vendors from Pluck to Disqus. If you choose to use your Disqus, Twitter or Facebook account to make comments, you will have whatever icon you associated with those accounts show on your Herald story comment.

Q: I need to post an announcement for our BHS Class of 1975 Reunion coming up in September? What is the easiest way to do it online? I've already contacted the newsroom@bellinghamherald.com with the info, but would also wish to run it online and in the Take Five??? Thanks...
A: Be sure to send your info to newsroom@bellinghamherald.com so your reunion can be in the Sunday "Out and About" column in Whatcom Life.
We don't print reunions in our Take Five entertainment listings, but you can post your event to our online calendar. Here's how:
Here's how to get your event in our online calendar:
You need to be a registered user of our Web site to post something to the calendar. The link is on the top of the home page. Here's the direct URL -
http://www.bellinghamherald.com/reg-bin/int.cgi?mode=register.
Once you register, an email will be sent to you at the address you registered with. You need to click on the link in that email to confirm you want to register.
Once you've registered, you go to the calendar either by typing in this URL http://calendar.bellinghamherald.com/ or by clicking on the calendar about halfway down the main section of the home page.
When you get to the calendar, you click on the yellow plus sign that says "Add an Event."
Once you fill out the form and submit it, we will approve the event - usually within one business day.
You'll get an email confirming that your event has been accepted. That email will also contain a direct link to your submission, should you want to change it.

Q: How do i stop coupons mailed to my post office box
A: There are a variety of methods, but this site:
http://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs4-junk.htm
seems to have the most comprehensive and up-to-date content. Among other things they offer a form letter you can send to a direct mail marketing association that supposedly gets you off many mailing lists.

Please check out the above site. Can the Herald provide this service on line. Guess we are creatures of habit and enjoy "reading the paper as originally published"
A: Thanks for your note. We are considering a contract with Olive but are trying to determine how big of an audience exists for it. We'll count you as a "yes" vote!
