A big thank you to the 45 farms in Whatcom County who provide produce to the Bellingham Food Bank Small Potatoes gleaning project! My husband and I are two of the many volunteers who pick more than 200,000 pounds of produce each year which is given to the Food Bank through the generosity of these farms! Special recognition should be given to the Boxx family at Boxx Berry Farms in Ferndale. This farm not only donates produce they sell to the public, but also grows produce specifically to give to the Food Bank! Last year Boxx Farms gave 100,000 pounds of produce to be enjoyed by families who seldom enjoy the quality and quantity of produce that is donated to the Food bank through the gleaning project. Thank you also to Max for being a wonderful example of love for community through hard work and giving to others.
