Recently four members of the Bellingham City Council voted to inflict $1.2 million of what I believe to be unjust, unethical, and undeserved taxes on our community's treasured non-profit hospital. The three members who dissented deserve our praise and gratitude. The four who performed this abuse deserve to be rejected at the polls, ASAP. Meanwhile, a helpful idea has been circulating in medical circles that citizens should embrace. Since the four offending council members are imposing $1.2 million cuts in valued services, let them officially, publically recommend exactly which services they wish eliminated.
