BELLINGHAM - A warrant was issued for Garrett Stephen Young, who did not return to Whatcom County Jail after being released for an appointment Tuesday, June 16.
Whatcom County Superior Court required the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office to release Young Tuesday for an appointment with the state Department of Social and Health Services. He was ordered to return to the jail by 1:30 p.m., but he never came back.
There are now three felony bench warrants for Young, whose original charges are second-degree theft, second-degree burglary, bail-jumping and possession of a weapon. He is also wanted as a fugitive in Clatsop County, Ore.
Young is 20, has brown hair, blue eyes, weighs about 140 pounds and is 6-foot-1. His last known address was an apartment in the 3000 block of Ferry Avenue. Anyone who has seen Young or has information about his location should call 911.
