Little Red Schoolhouse fundraising barbecue: Eat in or take out Marv’s Marvlus Pit Bar-B-Q from 4-7 p.m. at the Olympia-Lacey Church of God, 5005 Lacey Blvd. SE. Money raised will provide students with school supplies, backpacks and clothing. Enjoy a pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, baked beans and a beverage for $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Live music, desserts and raffle items will be for sale. Tickets can be purchased at redschool.org or at the door. Tortoise and the Hare Prediction 5K: The West Olympia Rotary Club’s third annual run/walk will start at Capital High School at 9 a.m. and feature a flatter and faster route. Participants must leave their watches and timing devices at home and try to match their actual finishing time with their predicted time. Winners will be decided by which runners cross the finish line with a time closest to their predicted time. Tumwater volunteer work party: Volunteers will remove invasive plants and debris beginning at Tumwater City Hall, 555 Israel Road SW, from 10 a.m.-noon, rain or shine. Salute to America concert: The South Puget Sound Community College concert choir and the Puget Sound Community Choir present their spring concert, “Salute to America II” on June 10 on the Minnaert Center Mainstage. The selections will include arrangements of American folk songs, show tunes and patriotic classics. Concert begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Donations accepted.
