BELLINGHAM - A fourth recreational marijuana store will open in Bellingham on Saturday, Aug. 23.
Green Leaf will start selling pot and paraphernalia at 9:30 a.m. Its address is 4220 Meridian St. Suite 102, next to Moneytree and between Bellis Fair mall, Walmart and Costco.
The owners are Bellingham residents Ken and Susan Linse.
Tyler Powers, the store's general manager, said the owners want to keep money here and appeal to the Canadian market.
"We really want to focus on keeping the local dollar local. The local economy is very important to us," Powers said. "We're going to showcase as many local growers, glassblowers and other local merchandisers as possible."
The store will be selling two strains - Blue Dream and Bubba Kush - from Happy Valley Farms, which is near Bellingham.
"We truly believe we're going to be Bellingham's premier recreational marijuana store just because of our location alone," Powers added.
The store will be at least 3,000 square feet. It will employ 14 people.
Its phone number is 360-526-2198. Information about it can be found on Facebook.
