BELLINGHAM - A representative of Top Shelf, one of the first legal retail marijuana outlets in Washington, said Wednesday, Aug. 6, the store will become the first in the state to sell edible marijuana.
Top Shelf had about 500 packages of edibles - from Green Chief of Granite Falls - available starting at 10 p.m. Wednesday, which should make some customers happy.
"We constantly hear, 'When are edibles coming?'" said Top Shelf investor John Evich.
The initial three offerings - under Green Chief's Baked Botanicals brand - were a trail mix, a party mix, and crazy carnival nuts.
Evich said Top Shelf also was the first retailer in the state to sell cannabis oils, also beginning Wednesday. The oils from RIF are used with vaporizers.
Top Shelf made the first recreational pot sale in Washington state on July 8.
Other edible pot products are coming to the store, according to Evich. Those range from brittle, to different types of candies and cookies, to pita chips, croutons and baklava.
Top Shelf Cannabis is at 3863 Hannegan Road, Unit 107, in Henifin Plaza. More details are at topshelfcannabisbellingham.com or 360-733-9000.
