BELLINGHAM - About 200 gallons of gas has gone missing from a local business over the last few weeks, as someone has been cutting gas lines to get fuel from rental trucks, according to the Bellingham Police Department.
The owner of Discovery Park Heated Storage, 1470 King St., called police Saturday, Aug. 23, after discovering that multiple trucks had had their fuel lines cut.
Eight U-Haul rental vehicles had their gas lines cut and their fuel siphoned over the past few weeks. The trucks are not parked inside any enclosure.
Police believe the gas thief may be using a vehicle to get away because of the high volume of fuel, though they don't have any suspects in the thefts.
