Palliative care will be the focus of a Thursday, Feb. 25, discussion at Northwest Adult Day Health and Wellness Center.
The free event is 3:30 to 5 p.m. at 851 Aaron Drive in Lynden.
Dr. Bree Johnston, medical director of palliative care for PeaceHealth, will discuss the needs of people with serious chronic illnesses and how most people want and need a curative approach as well as relief from symptoms and stress.
She also will talk about challenges to caring for patients who are aged and/or have serious chronic diseases, and how to improve their care in Whatcom County.
