A new trustee has been appointed to the five-member board that governs and makes policy for the Bellingham Public Library system.
Rick Osen replaces Faye Hill, whose term on the Board of Trustees has ended. Each term lasts five years.
Osen has a long history of professional library experience, according to a Bellingham Public Library news release. Before retiring, he served as the interim dean of libraries and assistant dean for library administration and planning for Western Washington University Libraries.
During his 35 years with WWU Libraries, his responsibilities included budget planning and management, personnel management, and facilities planning and management. He also served on many university and regional committees, according to the news release.
