Free, in-person assistance with signing up for health insurance through the Washington Healthplanfinder is being offered Saturday, Jan. 24, at Whatcom Community College.
People who haven’t signed up or small-business owners looking at coverage options are encouraged to attend the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 237 W. Kellogg Road.
“Our customer support network can provide the assistance Washingtonians need to find the right plan to fit their needs and budget,” said Richard Onizuka, CEO for the Washington Health Benefit Exchange, in a press release.
The deadline for enrolling in a qualified health plan is Feb. 15. Coverage then would be effective March 1. Those who don’t need the assistance and enroll and pay by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, can get coverage starting Feb. 1.
