People can report a power outage or check out the status of one with a new app from Puget Sound Energy.
The free app —available for Apple, Android and Windows smartphones and tablets — has a map that shows outages in the area. Clicking on the pin for any outage shows the numbers of customers affected, estimated restoration time and cause, if known.
PSE already has an online outage map, but the app is designed to make it easier to report and get information, especially when electricity is out.
PSE supplies electric power to all Whatcom County households outside of Blaine or Sumas.
Never miss a local story.
Find the app on various app stores by searching for “Puget Sound Energy” or “myPSE.”
While the app is the easiest way to report power outages once someone has set up their account on it, people still can use PSE.com or call 1-888-225-5773 to report an outage.
