Traffic slowdowns are anticipated during repairs to Four-Mile Creek Bridge on Hannegan Road, less than a mile south of Pole Road, starting Tuesday, Aug. 19.
Work is weather dependent and is scheduled to end on Friday, Aug. 22.
Both lanes of traffic will remain open, but lane width will be reduced to make room for the work. The posted speed limit will be 15 mph, and over-width vehicles are advised to take an alternate route.
Any changes to the work schedule will be posted on the Whatcom County website at whatcomcounty.us/publicworks/index.jsp.
The contractor, Granite Construction, inadvertently damaged the bridge in 2013 while paving. The company is paying for the repair, county officials said.
