The cows, pigs, rabbits and other animals featured annually at the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden are being joined this year by camels, reptiles and bucking broncs, oh my!
But some fans comes for the music, too, and the featured grandstand entertainment Saturday, Aug. 16, is Collective Soul, performing at 7:30 p.m.
The Atlanta-based rock band was chosen as the closing act by fair fans in a Facebook contest earlier this year. Collective Soul, whose first hit single was "Shine," has seven No. 1 hits and is currently on a 20th anniversary tour.
Reserved seats are $42 and include fair admission. General fair admission is $12 adults, $10 seniors and $7 for youths 6 to 12.
The core of the fair continues to be thousands of exhibits from local farms, residents and 4-H and FFA youths, displaying the area's best in livestock, flowers and art.
