A section of Chuckanut Drive will be closed to all traffic for much of Wednesday, Aug. 6, as crews repair a damaged barrier.
The road will be closed to vehicles and bicycles between California Street and Chuckanut Crest Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. That's basically from just past the North Chuckanut trailhead to south of Teddy Bear Cove.
Drivers and bicyclists will need to plan alternate routes.
The work must be completed during daylight hours, and the road will need to be closed while DOT maintenance crews operate large equipment to reset the barrier that was stuck by a vehicle several times on Saturday Aug. 2. According to reports, the driver was not seriously injured.
