Earlier this month Northwest Sky Ferry and San Juan Airlines merged, which will mean an expanded flight scheduled for this region.
The new company will keep the San Juan Airlines name, offering daily scheduled flights to the islands, Point Roberts, Seattle, Port Angeles and British Columbia. It will have five Cessna planes in service, said co-owner Katie Jansen.
At the Bellingham International Airport, the company will fly out of the former Northwest Sky Ferry facility.
Jansen said many of their customers are business travelers and contractors flying out to the island for the day to get work done. They also serve a variety of customers interested in sight-seeing trips and whale watching tours.
