BELLINGHAM - A popular vendor at the Bellingham Farmers Market is taking the rest of the season off to concentrate on its expansion plans.
Skagit Valley Cured Meats is finishing its new processing plant in Skagit County. The company had hoped to finish its run at the farmers market, but the work at the plant is at an important stage that needs attention, said General Manager Gabriel Claycamp.
Claycamp said they plan on opening the new facility in November and start having products in local stores at the beginning of the year. The company is finalizing contracts for several stores, including the Community Food Co-op and Terra (Organica).
The company also plans to be a vendor at the Bellingham Farmers Market again in April 2015. For further details about the company, visit skagitvalleycuredmeats.com.
