The Whatcom Community College soccer program hit the road and came away with two tight victories over Edmonds Community College on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Nino Tursic scored a hat trick to key the Orcas' men's team to a 4-3 win over the Trojans, who sit just ahead of WCC in the men's NWAACC North standings. The women took a 1-0 victory over the Edmonds' women's team.
Tursic's goals came in the 7th, 33rd and 35th minutes, giving WCC a 3-1 lead. Ben Sowers added a goal two minutes later to give the Orcas a 4-1 halftime lead.
Edmonds' Cole Correll scored twice in the game's final 10 minutes to bring the Trojans to within one goal.
Tasha Parris scored the game's only goal as the WCC women came away with a 1-0 win.
Parris' goal came with 30 minutes left in the game.
Goalkeeper Brittany Osborn recorded the shutout for the Orcas.
