These days you can get pretty much any fruit in any season. But there's still something about fresh, in-season produce that makes farmers' markets kind of magical. A great "pick" right now: peaches! These sweet treats are at their peak in the late summer in many areas of the country and taste better when bought locally (they don't do well when they sit in a refrigerated truck for too long). Head to your local stand with the kids and let them sniff a few to find some that smell fragrant and are ready to eat. Then, if you can keep the kids from biting into them right there, take them home and make a peach cobbler smoothie: Place 2 cups fresh peaches, 1/4 cup rolled oats, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1 cup vanilla yogurt, 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional), and 1 cup ice in a blender. Puree until smooth. Yum!
