I have known Doug Shepherd for approximately 33 years. We met through his wife, as her family and mine were very close. In that time, I have known him to be a man of great integrity, and one that cares for the Whatcom County community as a whole.

He is a practical businessman, and as such, I know that he would run our courts with efficiency and effectiveness. His experience covers a broad range of legal aspects, and he is very knowledgeable in the law. Those are two qualities which I believe we need in a good judge.

Years ago, before he passed away, Shepherd's father-in-law would always tell us that Shepherd was going to be a Supreme Court justice one day. When Shepherd told me that he was running for judge, there was no doubt in my mind that he immediately had my highest recommendation.

We need integrity and experience like Shepherd's in our courts, and I ask you to join with me in voting him to Superior Court Judge in these next weeks.
