It has come to my attention that teachers in Whatcom County can retire, accept full benefits, and still work for the community as a substitute.

With the availability of fresh graduates from Western Washington University or elsewhere who need experience and financial support, why would we allow this to happen?

Why do teachers have the right to take opportunities away from our up-and-coming educators?

Not only will they cost more but their styles and methods are formulated from old policies that may or may not conform to the new ideas presented in today's education styles.

This is wrong and our policy-makers should draw the line.

You are retired. Stay put and let those better suited to today's educational demands do their jobs.
