Scott Ayers wrote a great column on the Sunday, June 28, opinion page regarding the alleged "conservative bias" of The Bellingham Herald for publishing some excellent political cartoons recently.
While The Bellingham Herald is not totally aligned with the New York Times, to call it conservative is a stretch, in my opinion. Apparently, though, some of our liberal neighbors plan to cancel their subscription if The Bellingham Herald strays from the national media's policy of Obama worship.
Many things happened on Election Day 2008, in my opinion: America elected its first black President, our budget deficit instantly quadrupled, capitalism hit the endangered species list, and liberal America lost its sense of humor.
Long-time liberal friends who have relentlessly sent a constant barrage of political attack e-mails to me for the past eight years now say "unsubscribe," "don't send anything political," and "nothing is funny about this." I find this both amusing and frustrating since we may now have the "perfect storm" of government incompetency brewing with Obama at the helm, flanked by Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, and most recently, Al Franken.
Change is certainly an interesting phenomenon.
