We see concern for the safety of children being transported in cars; particularly their safety in the car seats intended to minimize the risk of injury in a collision.
Yet, it is quite legal to transport a child in a flimsy little trailer hooked onto the rear wheel of a bicycle. These dinky little trailers offer no protection at all. You can see such bicycles and trailers being ridden on busy streets, including the Guide Meridian, which we believe has too many accidents on it.
No safer are the little seats that we have seen mounted on top of the rear wheel of a bike.
Isn't there something inconsistent in our safety laws?
