Says meeting was good democracy

On the Sunday, June 28, opinion page, one writer contended that the City Council meeting to consider Bellingham a safety zone for military members who oppose the wars was "an insult" to those of us "who served this great country."
The insult is actually that this person feels empowered to speak for us, all of us.
Personally, I see the meeting as a healthy exercise in what is called democracy.
