The United States flag has gone through many revisions and hardships. It has survived many wars from the Revolutionary War to the Civil War to World War II and on. Countless individuals have died defending it. Countless have died attempting to destroy it.

The American Flag is the symbol of this country. It represents a nation that will not bow down. It represents the ideals of liberty, justice, strength, and so much more. Those countless individuals who have died for this symbol paid the ultimate price so that my fellow Americans and I could live freely; so that we can worship whomever we want, say what we want, and many other freedoms.

Prisoners of War waited and hoped for the day that they would see our flag again. They never gave up when they saw the flag in their hearts and minds.

This is why I proudly and dutifully salute and honor the United States flag everyday. And, this is why everyone else should do the same. Flag Day recently passed. I ask that everyone take the time to honor the flag. It is your duty as an American citizen.

So much disrespect is seen for the flag. Let us stop that.
