Says Obama, liberal values, are American

I continue to be amazed at how so many people are easily manipulated in this political age.

I am referring to a recent letter perpetuating internet lies about Barack Obama and his "history of political, spiritual and financial associates who are admittedly ... terrorists", etc. Why, if Obama has connections to terrorists, did many generals attend that convention and endorse him?

It is John McCain who has current ties to those financiers connected to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, not Obama.

The author also claims that Obama does not even write his own speeches. He writes many of them-including his very excellent acceptance speech at the Democratic convention.

Obama has a Doctorate of Law degree and is a constitutional scholar. We need someone who understands and supports the constitution as our leader.

In addition, the author describes Obama's values as different from the traditional American values that built this country. I think the writer should read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I am just as much an American as the writer of this letter - my ancestors came over on the Mayflower - and my liberal values have just as much validity and are aligned with the values which founded this country.
