Suggest government control of industries

It is obvious to me that the form of capitalism that we have been subjected to in this country does not work. We need to change it so that capitalism is combined with socialism within the private sector, so that competition and consolidation actually complement each other.

One way that could work is if the feds took over all industry, and yet still allowed competition from within. Competition would allow prices to stay low, and quality of goods and services to be high. Any business failures would just be absorbed by the government, and the civil servants working those establishments would be reassigned.

Ideally, the government would make a profit, at some point, and start paying down the debt. And this should prevent the ups and downs that we have had in our extreme version of capitalism, going back to the beginning.
