Today I had a thrilling experience seeing the new Whatcom Museum space on Flora Street. The art of the current exhibition has a pleasing coherence due to being the collection of two people with a developed and sophisticated point of view.

And there is a bonus. The children's section of the museum is a wonderful vision that exudes a uniquely local quality. I expect that more than one great future artist will be inspired by that space.

Bellingham should be proud of what has come into being here, and I thank the Zirinskys for sharing their collection and all those who had a hand in the current exhibition.
