Riding the bus is beneficial to many, from saving money to gas, to not having to sit waiting in traffic, to reducing both wear and tear on your vehicle and carbon emissions to the environment.
In addition to offering an alternative to driving, Whatcom Transportation Authority's service provides transportation to those who do not have vehicles (including many students who don't have the option of bringing their cars to college), or who are unable to drive (such as the elderly community).
Cutting bus service would negatively impact the environmentally-conscious community we live in. To avoid reduced bus service, we as a community should support the WTA by considering a tax increase in order to allow WTA to provide us with the services that many of us utilize daily.
