As long-time community members we support Andrew McLaurin's election to the Ferndale School Board. He was appointed to the board a year ago, was integral to the selection of our new Superintendent and wants to carry forward the work he has begun on the board.

Andrew cares about our schools and quality education and has five children who are or have been in the Ferndale Schools. He de-sires to contribute back to the community his family has invested in and called home for eight years.

He has the ability and commitment to study all sides of issues before making a decision. He is focused on increasing communication between the school board, the community, and those working in the schools. He has a straight-forward approach to problem solving.

He recognizes the need to maintain a balanced budget and maintain classroom resources for students' benefit. He will represent the community and help make decisions for the benefit of the entire school district.

We need to remember that Andrew has only been on the board one year and was not a part of decisions made by the board the past several years. We need his knowledge and abilities on this board.
