Blethen's past makes him choice for port

We support John Blethen for Port of Bellingham commissioner. We have known John for almost 30 years. Our daughters were in preschool together. John has been part of the local political scene for as long as we can remember. When we first got to know him, he was involved in organizing his Fairhaven neighbors to strengthen and improve their neighborhood.

John's work as a local small business owner and a tradesman puts him in touch with a cross section of people in Whatcom County. This makes him aware of what is working in our government and what is broken.

For the past several years he has devoted his efforts to making the port work for all the people of Whatcom County. When he wasn't satisfied with the planning that the incumbent produced with public funds, he spent his own money to give alternative visions of what the waterfront could be.

Join us in voting for John Blethen for port commissioner. John Blethen is well-prepared, open-minded and works for the people of Whatcom County.
