Stir in a little H.P. Lovecraft and magic, season it with apocalyptic gloom, and you have “Joe Golum and the Drowning City.” Horror author Christopher Golden and artist Mike Mignola, creator of the comic “Hellboy,” have collaborated on an illustrated novel.
